Breakfast in the Classroom

Today, Monday, August 22, 2011, students started participating in a district grant program, Breakfast in the Classroom.  The program allows us to serve free breakfast in the classroom to all students.  Regardless of whether or not your child qualifies for free or reduced price meals, he or she can recieve a nutritious meal in the morning free of charge.  To ensure that your child is able to take full advantage of this program, please make sure your child arrives at school at 7:40 a.m. so that they are able to have breakfast on time in their classrooms at 7:45.  Students arriving after 7:45 a.m. will not receive breakfast.

The first step of ensuring that all students are ready to learn is to make sure they start the day with a nutritious breakfast.  Research shows that children who eat breakfast perfomr better in school and have fewer behavior problems that those who do not.  The breakfast program is available to all students every morning.  Your child can eat breakfast at school every day or only occassionally if you wish.

We will not be offering breakfast in the cafeteria.  If you have any questions, please contact the office at (303) 364-7918.  Thank you for your support.
