Elementary and Middle School Student Councils meet weekly to plan school events as leaders of the student body. 

 

 

Girls on the run

Girls on the Run - Running Club - sponsored by Jennette House and Ellen Collins

Girls will be inspired to a lifetime of self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through an innovative program that combines training for a 3.1 mile run/walk race with a fun, health education lesson plan.  Girls gain self-esteem and learn healthy life habits while training for 5k run/walk race.  Teams will participate in Great Candy Run on November 8th.  Club meets in Room D and outside 3:00 - 4:15.  Dates:  September 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 30 - October 7, 8, 20, 21, 28, 29 - November 3, 6 (Dates Revised 9-30-15).

Art Club - For 5th & 6th Grade Students - sponsored by Pilar Tourtelot

Student artists will be working with all kinds of different mediums, experimenting with multi-media, and hopefully large group sculptures.  Students will be involved in team building.  It will also be an opportunity for students to explore art that the students do not get a chance to experience in a large class setting such as large sculpture, large paintings, etc.

  Yearbook Club

Yearbook Club - sponsored by Laurel Olofson

The purpose of the yearbook is to inform, entertain, and provide a record of the school year in a journalistic manner.  Content coverage includes student life, academics, people, sports and clubs.  Students will work individually and in small teams to compile content and create each page of the yearbook.  Student yearbook staff will brainstorm and work together as a group to define the yearbook's theme and graphic style.  The student staff independently takes photographs as needed for use in the yearbook.  They also independently identify and report about unique features of Clyde Miller life via photography and written stories.  Final content and editorial approval is made by the faculty adviser, Ms. Olofson. Student staff will also actively promote yearbook sales.

Flag Football Club - 6th, 7th, & 8th Grade boys and girls -  Sponsored by Jamie Stephens

Our flag football club is a great opportunity for your child to improve fitness, flag footballs skills, teamwork, and leadership.  Teams will participate in practices and tournament style games.  The club will be offered on Mondays in the fall from 2:45 to 4:00.
