Elementary and Middle School Student Councils meet weekly to plan school events as leaders of the student body.
Girls on the Run - Running Club - sponsored by Jennette House and Brittany Pierson
Girls will be inspired to a lifetime of self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through an innovative program that combines training for a 3.1 mile run/walk race with a fun, health education lesson plan. Girls gain self-esteem and learn healthy life habits while training for 5k run/walk race.
Teams will participate in a 5K run TBD. Club meets from 3:00 - 4:30, Mondays and Thursdays starting September 9th.
Art Club - For 5th & 6th Grade Students - sponsored by Pilar Tourtelot
Student artists will be working with all kinds of different mediums, experimenting with multi-media, and hopefully large group sculptures. Students will be involved in team building. It will also be an opportunity for students to explore art that the students do not get a chance to experience in a large class setting such as large sculpture, large paintings, etc.
Garden Club - sponsored by Jennifer Alford
Garden Club will meet every Monday 3-4pm until October break. We will start up again after Spring Break and continue until the end of the school year. In Garden Club, students will help maintain the school garden, plant and harvest vegetables, work on arts and crafts, and make healthy snacks.
Choir Club - sponsored by Christy Go
Choir club has just begun and students are excited to learn songs and showcase their talents!
Japanese Animation and Culture Club - sponsored by Christy Go and Pilar Tourtelot
This is a club aiming to provide students with the opportunity to learn and explore Japanese animation and culture in art, language, and custom.
Flag Football Club - 5th Grade boys and girls - Sponsored by Jamie Stephens
- Starting September 4th, Clyde Miller P8 will have a 5th grade flag football team. There will be 7 practices and 2 Saturday tournament-style games played against other local elementary schools. Games will be held at local high schools. You will need a registration packet, a sports physical and a mouth guard.
