Clyde Miller P-8 Community:

We are reaching out with an important update regarding the future use of the Clyde Miller P-8 building. As you know, our school will close at the end of this school year as we prepare to transition to Coal Creek P-8. We realize our community is curious about the district’s plans for the Clyde Miller campus, and we hope the information below helps provide clarity on the next steps and what to expect in the near term.

2026-27 School Year

During the 2026-27 school year, the Clyde Miller facility will serve as a flexible, multi-purpose space for Aurora Public Schools (APS) operations while the district explores long-term options for its future use. APS is committed to maintaining the Clyde Miller facility and grounds as a valuable resource for both the district and the community. Keeping staff and district operations active on-site will help ensure the building remains well-utilized and supported.

Funded by the 2024 Bond Program approved by Aurora voters, APS is building new schools, including the Health Science High School and a P-8 in the Foundry housing development. To support a strong and successful opening, the administrative teams for both schools will use the Clyde Miller building for dedicated office space. This will allow them to fully prepare for their respective opening dates and the arrival of students and families.

Other possible uses for the facility include serving as an auxiliary site for district professional learning and collaboration, as well as APS-sponsored events. The community will also be able to reserve space for meetings and events. That space will be available beginning in July, and interested community members can find more information about the rental process and rates by visiting the APS Facilities Rental webpage or by calling the APS Facility Rental office at 303-367-3060.

Community Survey 

Next fall, we will also begin long-term planning for the Clyde Miller building. To support this process, APS invites you to share your thoughts by completing this short three-question survey to provide suggestions you have for potential long-term uses. You are welcome to share the survey with your neighbors and others you know who have an interest in the future of the Clyde Miller building. We value our community’s voice, so the more feedback we receive, the better. 

Be on the lookout for engagement opportunities this fall where you will be able to provide more feedback around the long-term future of the Clyde Miller campus and learn more about the decision-making process. We will be in touch with more information as those opportunities are scheduled.
